About ME

As a Relational Gestalt Psychotherapist I use an experiential approach that focuses on the human-to-human connection between me and my clients, working to focus on the direct experience of the present moment in order to tune into emotions, thoughts and the embodied experience whilst bringing my own authentic self into the process with genuine curiosity.

Values

warm

I provide a welcoming space for you without judgment, to explore your experience, assist with healing, recovery and growth. Part of this is using ongoing contracting to ensure our sessions meet your needs, alongside an openness to feedback to help you steer the course of our work together.

Creative

I focus on meeting you where you are at on your journey in life. I use a range of creative therapy methods including metaphor and story, as well as opening up space for you to bring your own ways of being into the sessions. I also provide group therapy experiences which enable healing and recovery in community - a very powerful way to engage with therapy.

NEUROAFFIRMATIVE & ANTI-OPPRESSIVE

I have extensive experience working with neurodiversity and am neurodivergent myself. I work in a neuro-affirming manner and focus exploration of any such issues on your own experience of life, including oppression, masking and emerging identity. I am LGBTQIA+, body-positive and kink-friendly and strongly align myself with anti-racist values.

FAQ

I primarily work from my private practice in Wavertree, Liverpool L15. Some clients also work with me online, over Zoom, especially if they do not live close by. I also offer group therapy projects online. Get in touch with me to discuss your specific needs and to see if we're a good match.

Individual sessions are 60 minutes in length, with Couples sessions being 75 minutes. Those wanting to work more in depth, or with creative methods, may prefer to book longer sessions.

My availability during the week varies upon each client's needs. I run weekly sessions Monday - Wednesday. Fortnightly and other schedules are run on Thursdays. Most clients attend a regular scheduled session but, where possible, I will accommodate any requirements for flexibility that may be needed.

Therapy can be an open-ended process, with some clients remaining in therapy with one practitioner for several years. I am happy to explore options for working on specific issues in time-limited therapy, as well as providing opportunities for longer exploratory work.

Feel free to contact me to book in a no obligation consultation call.

Transactional Analysis (TA) is a powerful and practical approach to psychotherapy that can help us explore ourselves, our relationships and the patterns that shape our lives. Rooted in the idea that we each have Parent, Adult, and Child “ego states,” TA explores how these interact in everyday communication and decision-making as well as how older parts of our self and our experience may affect us day-to-day.

By uncovering our patterns and exploring the beliefs behind them, TA can empower us to make conscious choices, improve relationships, and create lasting personal change. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, conflict, or a desire for deeper self-understanding, TA can offer clear tools and insight to support your growth and emotional wellbeing.

I don't always use TA in every session and am happy to tailor our use of theory and psycho-education to your personal interests and needs.

I work with the following presenting issue with an open-minded and flexible approach to therapy. Often additional issues arise during the therapy as we explore your experience together.

  • Identity
  • Neurodiversity
  • Trauma
  • Anxiety & Depression
  • Body issues & body positivity
  • Sexuality
  • Oppression & discrimination
  • Burnout
  • Nature-connectedness & Eco-anxiety
  • Cultural differences
  • Recovery from Addiction
  • Disability
  • Relationship issues
  • Life transitions
  • Personal growth & self-discovery
  • Post-traumatic growth
  • Family dynamics
  • Interpersonal boundaries

I work with adults, individually and as couples/dyads. I also work with younger people 16-18 years old. I only provide psychotherapy in English but have extensive experience working with those for whom English is not a first language. I am also happy to work with overseas clients but am legally bound by my insurance to provide contracts that are held under English and Welsh law.

Psychotherapy sessions are confidential within the limits of the UKCP ethical framework. I may need to share information only in rare situations. This can include risk of serious harm to self/other, safeguarding concerns, or legal requirements (e.g. terrorism, drug trafficking, or court orders). Whenever possible, I’ll discuss this with clients first. I also discuss my work anonymously in professional supervision, where my supervisor is bound by confidentiality. This is another ethical requirement and helps me to continue my development as a therapist. I’m registered with the ICO and follow UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Client records are securely stored for seven years and full details are in my Privacy Policy.
